Three generations. One family. Rally in the blood.
MSH Rally Team was started in the early 1990s by the Hill Brothers, born and bred in Nottinghamshire. The two brothers caught the rally bug as kids — being driven around the country by their parents to marshal at single-venue events and the legendary Lombard RAC stages.
Once they were old enough to drive themselves, the first car landed: a Mark II Escort 1.6, run on night rallies up and down the country. Through the mid-1990s the team moved on to single-venue rallies in a left-hand drive Peugeot 205 Rallye 1.3 — Swinderby, Mamby Showground, Tywford — before stepping up to a Peugeot 106 Rallye 1.3.
The 106 was the breakthrough car. Class results came thick and fast: 2nd in Class at the EMAMC Multi-use Stage Rally 2003, best result in the Yorkshire League 2006, Hallam Star best results overall in 2007, 1st in Class 1 at the Rainworth Skoda Multi-use Stage in both 2007 and 2008, and 2nd in Class 1 again in 2009.
Forest rallying came next. 2nd in class at Dukeries 2011, 3rd the year after, then steady single-venue running through 2012–2014. With the next generation of the family arriving in 2015, the team shifted gear — building a Defender 110 Puma for green-laning and weekend UK trips, and starting work on the Mini R50 stage build that put MSH back on the rally entry lists.
Today the team is two cars deep — the championship-tested Mini R50 and a brand new Toyota Yaris GR — and three generations strong. Rally is still in our blood.
