This is our first proper Mini build project, MSH Rally Team purchased this Mini as a ¾ unfinished project. As most projects, back in the workshop they are not as originally seen.
Even though this looked OK to start with we quickly realised that most of the additional wiring was 240v house cable! We had no choice but to remove ALL the wiring loom from the car, strip it down to a Rally wiring loom along with all the gauges in the car and start over! Which has left us with a fully modified wiring loom fuse box and electronic dash display. Having realised that the fitted cage wasn’t MSA approved a new Safety Device 6-point fixing weld-in roll cage was installed to MSA standard, we had to remove the dash as the new cage goes through the dash/firewall to the strut tops.
We knew the engine was shot which is when we purchased and fitted Ex John Cooper Works club sport serial no 0035, 171 BHP at the wheels. Which had previously been installed in a rally car with pedigree. This was subsequently rolling roaded by Andrew a local rolling road specialist who did a fantastic job getting the engine up and running after removing the standard ECU and replacing it with a DTA, which now gives us launch control and a lot more flexibility with tuning. The engine is also fitted with Jenvey throttle bodies. Fitted with uprated Powerflex mounts. all round, EBC brakes and Gaz Gold Shocks fitted all round also.

All work apart from the engine wiring and tuning and the web design by Olly @ Dijitul has been undertaken in house and flew through the MOT (No advisories) and subsequently now has a MSA Vehicle passport which allows us to compete in Sprint & Hill climb along with Cat 1 Stage Rallying.
ALL works has been undertaken in accordance with the MSA rule book (BLUE BOOK)
